Imagine you have shot a sunset and now wish to put a graduated filter over it. Pull the filter down and hit the O key to see where the filter has fallen. As the translucent colour is red it will be very difficult to see versus the sunset. To change the colour press Shift O and the colour will cycle red-green-white-black.
